Auction result misses estimated price range
In September last year a collector was able to acquire the work A Woman with Another Woman by Arpita Singh for USD 240,000.00 (€ 245,323.52). This price was achieved in the auction Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Arpita Singh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Woman Plucking Flowers, which sold at auction in March last year for USD 819,000.00 (€ 738,303.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Woman with Another Woman von Arpita Singh für USD 240.000,00 (€ 245.323,52) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Arpita Singh mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Woman Plucking Flowers beobachtet, die im März letzten Jahres für USD 819.000,00 (€ 738.303,43) versteigert wurde.
