Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Arpita Singh could be acquired at Christies in New York in September last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba auction, the work Untitled (Funeral) changed hands for USD 14,000.00 (€ 14,310.54) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Arpita Singh achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman Plucking Flowers in March last year with an auction result of USD 819,000.00 (€ 738,303.43).
