Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Country Road, Vermont by Arnold Aaron Friedman was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 5,875.00 (€ 6,923.17). Admittedly, works by Arnold Aaron Friedman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Abstraction in May 2005 with an auction result of USD 43,200.00 (€ 34,982.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Country Road, Vermont von Arnold Aaron Friedman im Oktober 2000 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 5.875,00 (€ 6.923,17) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Arnold Aaron Friedman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Abstraction im Mai 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.200,00 (€ 34.982,59).
