Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2011 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work The American steam yacht Iolanda in Mediterranean waters off Naples by Antonio de Simone. The price achieved of GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,214.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Antonio de Simone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Royal Thames Yacht Club schooner Marchesa: In Neapolitan waters (illustrated); and In heavy weather in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 4,780.00 (€ 7,171.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The American steam yacht Iolanda in Mediterranean waters off Naples von Antonio de Simone zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.062,50 (€ 1.214,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Antonio de Simone auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Royal Thames Yacht Club schooner Marchesa: In Neapolitan waters (illustrated); and In heavy weather im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.780,00 (€ 7.171,76).
