In November 2011 Christies in London held the auction Maritime Art, which included the work A Royal Cornwall Yacht Club's steam yacht in the Bay of Naples by Antonio de Simone. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,897.02), 63% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antonio de Simone - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Royal Thames Yacht Club schooner Marchesa: In Neapolitan waters (illustrated); and In heavy weather, which sold at auction in May 2004 for GBP 4,780.00 (€ 7,171.76).

Oberer Schätzpreis um 63 % übertroffen

Im November 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Maritime Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Royal Cornwall Yacht Club's steam yacht in the Bay of Naples von Antonio de Simone zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.897,02) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Antonio de Simone mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Royal Thames Yacht Club schooner Marchesa: In Neapolitan waters (illustrated); and In heavy weather beobachtet, die im Mai 2004 für GBP 4.780,00 (€ 7.171,76) versteigert wurde.
