Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2012 a collector was able to acquire the work The steam yacht Emerald in the Bay of Naples (illustrated); and The steam yacht Emerald at sea by Antonio de Simone for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,539.87). This price was achieved in the auction Maritime Art at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Antonio de Simone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Royal Thames Yacht Club schooner Marchesa: In Neapolitan waters (illustrated); and In heavy weather in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 4,780.00 (€ 7,171.76).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2012 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The steam yacht Emerald in the Bay of Naples (illustrated); and The steam yacht Emerald at sea von Antonio de Simone für GBP 1.250,00 (€ 1.539,87) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Maritime Art bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Antonio de Simone auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Royal Thames Yacht Club schooner Marchesa: In Neapolitan waters (illustrated); and In heavy weather im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.780,00 (€ 7.171,76).
