In January 2013 Christies in London held the auction The Sunday Sale, which included the work The Royal Yacht Victoria And Albert, In The Bay Of Naples by Antonio de Simone. The result of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,334.51) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Antonio de Simone - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Royal Thames Yacht Club schooner Marchesa: In Neapolitan waters (illustrated); and In heavy weather, which sold at auction in May 2004 for GBP 4,780.00 (€ 7,171.76).
