Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,429.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Antonio de Simone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Royal Thames Yacht Club schooner Marchesa: In Neapolitan waters (illustrated); and In heavy weather in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 4,780.00 (€ 7,171.76).
