Ramona y el viejo (Ramona and the old man) signed 'Antonio Berni' (lower right) and titled and numbered 'Ramona y el viejo, 19/25 (lower left) xylograph on paper 59 1 ⁄ 2 x 24 3 ⁄ 4 /2 in. (151 x 61 cm.) Executed circa 1964. Edition number 19 of 25. Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October last year Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Art Online, which included the work Ramona vive su vida (Ramona lives her life) by Antonio Berni. The »bidding war« ended at USD 27,720.00 (€ 27,904.17), 16% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antonio Berni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Los Emigrantes in November 2013 with an auction result of USD 755,000.00 (€ 554,902.25).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ramona vive su vida (Ramona lives her life) von Antonio Berni zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 27.720,00 (€ 27.904,17) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Antonio Berni erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Los Emigrantes im November 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 755.000,00 (€ 554.902,25).
