A top price for Anton Martineau - as previously expected
In November 2000 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction TWENTIETH CENTURY ART, which included the work A still life with a pineapple, a bottle, a pear and a pipe on a table by Anton Martineau. The price achieved of NLG 4,095.70 (€ 1,918.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as NLG 3,500.00 – 4,500.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A still life with a pineapple, a bottle, a pear and a pipe on a table is the most expensive artwork by Anton Martineau that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im November 2000 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion TWENTIETH CENTURY ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit A still life with a pineapple, a bottle, a pear and a pipe on a table von Anton Martineau zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von NLG 4.095,70 (€ 1.918,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit NLG 3.500,00 – 4.500,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist A still life with a pineapple, a bottle, a pear and a pipe on a table das teuerste Kunstwerk von Anton Martineau, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
