The work Embracing figures by Anton Martineau was sold in the PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2002. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 881.25 26% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Anton Martineau - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A still life with a flower in a vase and a horse's head, which sold at auction in November 2000 for NLG 4,095.70 (€ 1,918.77).

Die Arbeit Embracing figures von Anton Martineau wurde im Januar 2002 in der Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 881,25 und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Anton Martineau mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A still life with a flower in a vase and a horse's head beobachtet, die im November 2000 für NLG 4.095,70 (€ 1.918,77) versteigert wurde.
