Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Dutch barge heeling in the breeze off the coast by Antonie Waldorp was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,625.49). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Antonie Waldorp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A royal barge on a choppy river with slot Loevestein in the background in October 2001 with an auction result of EUR 37,600.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Dutch barge heeling in the breeze off the coast von Antonie Waldorp im November 2007 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.625,49) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Antonie Waldorp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A royal barge on a choppy river with slot Loevestein in the background im Oktober 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 37.600,00.
