Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Rocks And Surf by Anthony Thieme. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,364.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthony Thieme achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Evening Light on the Suwannee River in September 2005 with an auction result of USD 144,000.00 (€ 119,422.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rocks And Surf von Anthony Thieme zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.364,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anthony Thieme erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Evening Light on the Suwannee River im September 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 144.000,00 (€ 119.422,79).
