Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait of Conrad Herbert Flower and Violet Flower by Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys was auctioned at Bonhams in London in March 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 8,925.00 (€ 10,484.58). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British love'S Shadow in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 494,500.00 (€ 343,976.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Portrait of Conrad Herbert Flower and Violet Flower von Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys im März 2021 bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 8.925,00 (€ 10.484,58) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit British love'S Shadow im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 494.500,00 (€ 343.976,07).
