Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work La Belle Jaune Giroflée by Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 20,889.16). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British love'S Shadow in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 494,500.00 (€ 343,976.07).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit La Belle Jaune Giroflée von Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys im Dezember 2018 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 18.750,00 (€ 20.889,16) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit British love'S Shadow im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 494.500,00 (€ 343.976,07).
