This artwork by Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2017. In the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art auction, the work Mary Magdalene sold for GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,501.35) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anthony Frederick Augustus Sandys achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work British love'S Shadow in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 494,500.00 (€ 343,976.07).
