Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Towards Tirados, Tinos, Greece; Tropical garden, Malia, Crete; Town and distant cathedral; and Terraced hillside and mule track, Tinos, Greece by Anne E. Christopherson was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 437.50 (€ 556.52). Admittedly, works by Anne E. Christopherson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Roofs and holly trees, The Point, Greenwich; Woodbridge town hall; and Rooftops, Hyde Vale in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,544.09).
