Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work 'Asplenium Angustifolium' by Anna Atkins was sold in the Photographs auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2009. Here, the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 16,250.00 (€ 12,253.98). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anna Atkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Photographs of British Algæ. Cyanotype Impressions., Robert Hunt's copy in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 229,250.00 (€ 343,959.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit 'Asplenium Angustifolium' von Anna Atkins wurde im März 2009 in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 16.250,00 (€ 12.253,98) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anna Atkins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Photographs of British Algæ. Cyanotype Impressions., Robert Hunt's copy im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 229.250,00 (€ 343.959,44).
