Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Anthriscus, Sylvestria, c. 1854 by Anna Atkins for USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,848.58). This price was achieved in the auction Photographs at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anna Atkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Photographs of British Algæ. Cyanotype Impressions., Robert Hunt's copy in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 229,250.00 (€ 343,959.44).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2015 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Anthriscus, Sylvestria, c. 1854 von Anna Atkins für USD 17.500,00 (€ 15.848,58) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anna Atkins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Photographs of British Algæ. Cyanotype Impressions., Robert Hunt's copy im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 229.250,00 (€ 343.959,44).
