Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Adiantum Tenerum' by Anna Atkins was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2009. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,426.14) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Anna Atkins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Photographs of British Algæ. Cyanotype Impressions., Robert Hunt's copy in May 2004 with an auction result of GBP 229,250.00 (€ 343,959.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 'Adiantum Tenerum' von Anna Atkins kam im März 2009 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 9.426,14) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Anna Atkins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Photographs of British Algæ. Cyanotype Impressions., Robert Hunt's copy im Mai 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 229.250,00 (€ 343.959,44).
