Upper estimate price exceeded by 52 %.
In May 2010 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Dolly Parton by Andy Warhol. The »bidding war« ended at USD 914,500.00 (€ 739,348.37), 52% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andy Warhol achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shot Sage Blue Marilyn in May last year with an auction result of USD 195,040,000.00 (€ 181,753,797.41).
