This artwork by Andy Dewantoro achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2011. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction, the work Infinite Sadness sold for HKD 112,500.00 (€ 9,776.67) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. This high result makes Infinite Sadness the most expensive artwork by Andy Dewantoro that we have observed at auctions so far.
