Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Crucifixion by Andres Serrano was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2000. The price achieved of USD 58,750.00 (€ 69,231.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andres Serrano - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Piss Christ, which sold at auction in November 2011 for USD 314,500.00 (€ 233,776.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Crucifixion von Andres Serrano kam im Oktober 2000 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 58.750,00 (€ 69.231,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Andres Serrano mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Piss Christ beobachtet, die im November 2011 für USD 314.500,00 (€ 233.776,85) versteigert wurde.
