This artwork by Andres Barrioquinto achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale auction, the work Chasing The Scream sold for HKD 525,000.00 (€ 57,782.45) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Andres Barrioquinto - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Arms Around Your Love, which sold at auction in October 2018 for HKD 2,000,000.00 (€ 225,202.97).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Andres Barrioquinto erzielte im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art – Day Sale wurde die Arbeit Chasing The Scream für HKD 525.000,00 (€ 57.782,45) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 300.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Andres Barrioquinto mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Arms Around Your Love beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für HKD 2.000.000,00 (€ 225.202,97) versteigert wurde.
