Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Untitled (Shadows on brick wall, New York), 1983 by Andreas Feininger was auctioned at Christies in October 2021. The result of USD 1,000.00 (€ 865.65) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andreas Feininger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Photojournalist (Dennis Stock, Magnum Photographer) in April 2001 with an auction result of USD 41,125.00 (€ 46,343.25).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Untitled (Shadows on brick wall, New York), 1983 von Andreas Feininger kam im Oktober 2021 bei Christies zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 1.000,00 (€ 865,65) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andreas Feininger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Photojournalist (Dennis Stock, Magnum Photographer) im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.125,00 (€ 46.343,25).
