Sold at the upper estimate price
In October 2021 Christies held the auction Photographs, which included the work Untitled (Shadow on brick wall, New York), 1983 by Andreas Feininger. The auction ended at the price of USD 1,500.00 (€ 1,298.48), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Andreas Feininger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Photojournalist (Dennis Stock, Magnum Photographer) in April 2001 with an auction result of USD 41,125.00 (€ 46,343.25).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im Oktober 2021 führte Christies die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Shadow on brick wall, New York), 1983 von Andreas Feininger zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 1.500,00 (€ 1.298,48) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Andreas Feininger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Photojournalist (Dennis Stock, Magnum Photographer) im April 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 41.125,00 (€ 46.343,25).
