Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Amoako Boafo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in November last year. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session auction, the work White on White sold for USD 415,800.00 (€ 402,789.89) - well above the upper estimate of USD 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Amoako Boafo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hands Up in December 2021 with an auction result of HKD 26,650,000.00 (€ 3,018,669.38).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Amoako Boafo erzielte im November letzten Jahres bei Phillips in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Afternoon Session wurde die Arbeit White on White für USD 415.800,00 (€ 402.789,89) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 150.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Amoako Boafo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hands Up im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 26.650.000,00 (€ 3.018.669,38).
