Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work John Halsey Gulick by Alice Boughton was auctioned at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in September last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 191.25 (€ 195.49). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alice Boughton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Three Photographic Portraits Of W.B. Yeats in September 2017 with an auction result of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,090.71).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit John Halsey Gulick von Alice Boughton im September letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 191,25 (€ 195,49) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alice Boughton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Three Photographic Portraits Of W.B. Yeats im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.090,71).
