In November 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Latin American Art Modern & Contemporary, which included the work Gold In The Morning by Alfredo Jaar. The »bidding war« ended at USD 21,250.00 (€ 17,084.74), 42% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfredo Jaar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Refugee (Water), which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 60,000.00 (€ 56,721.50).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 42 % übertroffen
Im November 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Latin American Art Modern & Contemporary durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gold In The Morning von Alfredo Jaar zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 21.250,00 (€ 17.084,74) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfredo Jaar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Refugee (Water) beobachtet, die im November 2016 für USD 60.000,00 (€ 56.721,50) versteigert wurde.
