Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art | London Including Works from the Collection of Marina Picasso, which included the work Hauff, Gespensterschiff (Hauff, Ghost Ship) by Alfred Kubin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,032.00 (€ 4,637.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alfred Kubin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Der letzte König in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 525,000.00 (€ 429,272.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art | London Including Works from the Collection of Marina Picasso durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hauff, Gespensterschiff (Hauff, Ghost Ship) von Alfred Kubin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.032,00 (€ 4.637,97) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alfred Kubin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Der letzte König im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 525.000,00 (€ 429.272,28).
