Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

In December 2009 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Vardy Settlement Road by Alfred Joseph Casson. The »bidding war« ended at CAD 30,000.00 (€ 20,009.07), 20% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Alfred Joseph Casson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Below Ragged Falls, Oxtongue River in November 2012 with an auction result of CAD 111,750.00 (€ 86,488.14).

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Im Dezember 2009 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Vardy Settlement Road von Alfred Joseph Casson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von CAD 30.000,00 (€ 20.009,07) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Joseph Casson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Below Ragged Falls, Oxtongue River im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CAD 111.750,00 (€ 86.488,14).
