Auction result well in line with expectations
The work October - Lake Superior by Alfred Joseph Casson was sold in the Important Canadian Art auction at Sothebys in Toronto in May 2012. The price achieved of CAD 36,000.00 (€ 28,132.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CAD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Joseph Casson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Below Ragged Falls, Oxtongue River, which sold at auction in November 2012 for CAD 111,750.00 (€ 86,488.14).

Die Arbeit October - Lake Superior von Alfred Joseph Casson wurde im Mai 2012 in der Auktion Important Canadian Art bei Sothebys in Toronto versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von CAD 36.000,00 (€ 28.132,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit CAD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred Joseph Casson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Below Ragged Falls, Oxtongue River beobachtet, die im November 2012 für CAD 111.750,00 (€ 86.488,14) versteigert wurde.
