Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2010 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work On The River - Rockwood by Alfred Joseph Casson. It changed hands for a price of CAD 39,000.00 (€ 29,915.55) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of CAD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred Joseph Casson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Below Ragged Falls, Oxtongue River, which sold at auction in November 2012 for CAD 111,750.00 (€ 86,488.14).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2010 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit On The River - Rockwood von Alfred Joseph Casson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von CAD 39.000,00 (€ 29.915,55) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von CAD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfred Joseph Casson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Below Ragged Falls, Oxtongue River beobachtet, die im November 2012 für CAD 111.750,00 (€ 86.488,14) versteigert wurde.
