Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Alfred John Billinghurst could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Pictures and Prints auction, the work Putting The Washing Out To Dry changed hands for GBP 180.00 (€ 262.74) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfred John Billinghurst - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work St Pauls From The River Thames With One Steam Boat, which sold at auction in October 2004 for GBP 657.25 (€ 945.96).
