In December 2002 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations, which included the work Punting near Richmond Bridge by Alfred John Billinghurst. The price achieved of GBP 376.00 (€ 577.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Other works by Alfred John Billinghurst have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2004 the work St Pauls From The River Thames With One Steam Boat was auctioned for GBP 657.25 (€ 945.96).
