Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2001 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction MARITIME PICTURES, MODELS AND EPHEMERA INCLUDING GLOBES, which included the work Stormy weather, fishing boats beating into a harbour by Alfred Herbert. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 1,100.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 1,116.25. Admittedly, works by Alfred Herbert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fishing Vessels In A Squall Off Saint Malo, France in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,986.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2001 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion MARITIME PICTURES, MODELS AND EPHEMERA INCLUDING GLOBES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Stormy weather, fishing boats beating into a harbour von Alfred Herbert zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 1.100,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 1.116,25 einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfred Herbert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Fishing Vessels In A Squall Off Saint Malo, France im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.986,07).
