In the MARITIME PICTURES auction, the work Local craft salvaging wreckage offshore at Great Yarmouth, with townspeople on the beach recovering barrels as bystanders watch from the pier sold for GBP 1,920.00 (€ 2,834.52) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 900.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Alfred Herbert; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Fishing Vessels In A Squall Off Saint Malo, France sold at auction in June 2007 with the realized price of GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,986.07).
