Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A gentleman called William Hales of Maslow, in black coat and waistcoat, tied white cravat; sky background; together with J.H. Peile, Esq. in black coat seated in red chair by Alfred Edward Chalon was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 325.00 Admittedly, works by Alfred Edward Chalon have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ballerinas of the last century: "The Three Graces" - Marie Taglioni, Carlotta Grisi and Amalia Ferraris in December 2004 with an auction result of GBP 1,792.50 (€ 2,536.88).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A gentleman called William Hales of Maslow, in black coat and waistcoat, tied white cravat; sky background; together with J.H.
