In December 2020 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art Morning Session, which included the work The Funeral! (Family Plot!) by Alfonso Ossorio. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 875,000.00 (€ 92,293.54), 59% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Alfonso Ossorio have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nevertheless in May last year with an auction result of USD 604,800.00 (€ 563,600.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 59 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2020 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art Morning Session durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Funeral! (Family Plot!) von Alfonso Ossorio zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 875.000,00 (€ 92.293,54) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Alfonso Ossorio auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nevertheless im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 604.800,00 (€ 563.600,78).
