Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Alfonso Ossorio achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in June 2020. In the Art Contemporain Evening Sale auction, the work Bataille sold for EUR 200,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alfonso Ossorio - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nevertheless, which sold at auction in May last year for USD 604,800.00 (€ 563,600.78).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alfonso Ossorio erzielte im Juni 2020 bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Art Contemporain Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Bataille für EUR 200.000,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Alfonso Ossorio mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nevertheless beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für USD 604.800,00 (€ 563.600,78) versteigert wurde.
