Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Old Head Frame, United Keno Mine, Yukon by Alexander Young Jackson was sold in the Important Canadian Art auction at Sothebys in Toronto in May 2012. The price achieved of CAD 20,400.00 (€ 15,941.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CAD 18,000.00 – 22,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Young Jackson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work St. Tite-Des-Caps in June 2010 with an auction result of CAD 324,500.00 (€ 248,912.70).
