Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2012 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Madawaska by Alexander Young Jackson. The price achieved of CAD 65,750.00 (€ 50,886.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CAD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Alexander Young Jackson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work St. Tite-Des-Caps in June 2010 with an auction result of CAD 324,500.00 (€ 248,912.70).
