Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Lac Labarge, Yukon by Alexander Young Jackson was sold in the Important Canadian Art auction at Sothebys in Toronto in November 2012. The price achieved of CAD 94,500.00 (€ 73,137.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as CAD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Alexander Young Jackson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work St. Tite-Des-Caps, which sold at auction in June 2010 for CAD 324,500.00 (€ 248,912.70).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von CAD 94.500,00 (€ 73.137,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit CAD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Alexander Young Jackson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit St. Tite-Des-Caps beobachtet, die im Juni 2010 für CAD 324.500,00 (€ 248.912,70) versteigert wurde.
