This work of art by Alexander Pope could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Two Hanging Woodcock changed hands for USD 3,750.00 (€ 3,399.20) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Pope achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trophies Of The Hunt in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 370,000.00 (€ 332,285.59).
