Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Alexander Pope could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in October 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Ready For The Hunt changed hands for USD 21,250.00 (€ 18,752.21) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Pope achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trophies Of The Hunt in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 370,000.00 (€ 332,285.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Alexander Pope konnte im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Ready For The Hunt für USD 21.250,00 (€ 18.752,21) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexander Pope erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trophies Of The Hunt im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 370.000,00 (€ 332.285,59).
