In November 2019 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work First Prize by Alexander Pope. The »bidding war« ended at USD 75,000.00 (€ 68,064.25), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Alexander Pope have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Trophies Of The Hunt in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 370,000.00 (€ 332,285.59).
