Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ready for the Hunt by Alexander Pope was sold in the Two Centuries: American Art auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 12,600.00 (€ 10,907.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Pope achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trophies Of The Hunt in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 370,000.00 (€ 332,285.59).

Die Arbeit Ready for the Hunt von Alexander Pope wurde im Oktober 2021 in der Auktion Two Centuries: American Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 12.600,00 (€ 10.907,20) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
