Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Alexander Pope achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in April 2014. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work Still Life With Grouse And Woodcocks sold for USD 20,000.00 (€ 14,419.61) - well above the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Pope achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trophies Of The Hunt in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 370,000.00 (€ 332,285.59).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Alexander Pope erzielte im April 2014 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture wurde die Arbeit Still Life With Grouse And Woodcocks für USD 20.000,00 (€ 14.419,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexander Pope erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trophies Of The Hunt im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 370.000,00 (€ 332.285,59).
