Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2003 Christies in London held the auction THE COLLECTION OF MONSIEUR AND MADAME GERALD BAUER, which included the work A coastal landscape with a ruined tower by Alexander Cozens. It changed hands for a price of GBP 4,541.00 (€ 6,955.06) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Cozens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Bay At Dusk in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 108,000.00 (€ 160,062.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion THE COLLECTION OF MONSIEUR AND MADAME GERALD BAUER durch, in der auch die Arbeit A coastal landscape with a ruined tower von Alexander Cozens zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 4.541,00 (€ 6.955,06) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexander Cozens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Bay At Dusk im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 108.000,00 (€ 160.062,82).
