Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May last year Christies in New York held the auction Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale, which included the work Woman Combing Her Hair by Alexander Archipenko. The »bidding war« ended at USD 81,900.00 (€ 76,320.94), 17% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Alexander Archipenko achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Woman in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 1,464,000.00 (€ 2,169,740.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in New York die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Works on Paper and Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Woman Combing Her Hair von Alexander Archipenko zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 81.900,00 (€ 76.320,94) und damit 17% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Alexander Archipenko erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Woman im Juni 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.464.000,00 (€ 2.169.740,45).
